Wednesday's 4pm - 6pm
Afro House, Funky House & Nu Disco
My parents passed down to me the passion for Music, they used to buy me musicassettes and CDs.
In this way I listened to a legend like Gigi D’Agostino: when I heard the bassline and bold kick I literally felt in love with his sound. Then, when I listened to “Eurodance” - a compilation selected and mixed by him - I decided to start mixing. In the early years, with no professional equipment, I played with old radios, then I used a computer with Virtual DJ and next I bought my first entry-level controller. When I was about 20, I met a DJ (Emilio aka ZioEmy) and he showed me some routines and I started improving my DJ skills.
I like the most when I’m able to set a connection (or chemical, as you prefer) between me and the crowd to have fun together.
“L’Amour Toujours” by Gigi D’Agostino.
About one year ago, I played at a club in the province of Taranto; the party consisted in a part with live
music (in which I was involved as sound technician) and a part with a Classic Disco DJ Set mixed live by me.
Everyone danced and had fun (included me) and, at the end of the party, lots of people congratulated with me for the music I played.
I like to play several genres like Afro House, Funky House, Nu Disco, 90’s Dance and Eurodance, House, etc…
Gigi D’Agostino, for sure. He inspired me with his unmistakable sound and skills.
“Dove Si Balla” by Dargen D’Amico and “Vamos A La Playa” by Miranda.
According to me a DJ must go above routines, setlist, “knobbing” and has to create a kind of synergy between oneself and the crowd.
