House, Tech house, old school & classic house
Defiantly comes from the birth of dance music in the 1980s and have been mentally addicted ever since. Early 90s rave scene had a massive influence on me and contributed to what I am today, still miss those hazy days.
For me it’s all about the music and I’ve been an avid collector of dance tracks from the birth of the scene. Without the artists and producers that make the music DJing would never have been born.
Of late anything released on Toolroom, Revoke, Happy Techno Records and not forgetting Phonetic Recordings. Going back always found Strictly Rhythm & AM:PM Records tracks hit the spot. Too many artists to mention, so many grate producers
Had a mate that used to host raves in his MOT garage they started small and grew into a monster, would DJ for 7 hours straight and was totally awesome.
House music has been my favourite genre since 1993 and the way the scene has evolved over the last 25+ years is nothing short of amazing. I can honestly say house tracks produced today are just as good as they were back in the day.
Err would have to be DJ/producer Rob Roar lucky enough to have known him, his been an inspiration since the early 90s and his Ibiza sets are something else.
Hahaha thought these questions were meant to be easy… Loads of fantastic music around today but going back I would say I have lots of favourites like… Tocayo - Shake Your Body, Mellow Men - I Can’t Stop, The Ethnics - Beat Of The Drum, Atlantic Ocean - Waterfall, Electric Choc - Shock The Beat, Helicopter - On Ya Way. Been known to drop a mix of Robin S - Show Me Love & Cajmere - Brighter Days which always hits hard.
Vinyl is a great place to start whatever genre, try and stay away from today’s commercial outlets as there’s better places to source your tunes. A part from that I would say never give up, never give in it’s all about the love of the music.
