Thursday 8:00pm - 10.00pm
Progressive, Tech, Afro House & Techno
I grew up in a large family and music always played a big role for us - We always sang a lot and my dad played the accordion - I used to play the flute and sing in the choir.
I loved my older siblings' records and listened to them in secret and danced to them as a little girl and imagined myself making the music. I grew up with soul, funk and rock music and was always able to express and process my emotions best through music.
The best thing is that I can choose the music that I like and that reflects my emotions. And it clears my head - when I've had a long day, nothing beats spinning my vinyls.
I have many … depends on genre and the party starts with any track depending on the audience. But to name some: Space Oddity by Eric Sneo, Close to you by BLR, Aname, Truetone and then some classic tracks like Café del Mar, the Cosmic Boys Remix from Enery 52, By the Rhythm by Harald
Matthias, Alex Lauthals, Tell Me Why (Meduza Extended Rmx) by Supermode and even Rave Is The Future by Airsand, TuraniQa …. And lots and lots more ….
One of my big moments was meeting Toni Rios. That was many years ago and back then I was the resident DJ at the HdeM in Hanover, where Toni Rios was booked. Great person. We talked about cooking recipes while he played techno - unbelievable, right? But really an approachable, great person. I had my set directly after him and was super excited. Toni gave me positive feedback, which was a real highlight for me at the time
Well – to tell you the truth: I have not really a favourite favourite genre to spin. I love Progressive House, Afro House, as well as Funky House, Melodic House & Techno and Techno. The house genre gives me the opportunity to spread corresponding feelings through the beautiful melodies and
sometimes vocals. But TechHouse and pure techno also give me the pportunity to transfer my energy to the listeners. If they are open to it...
Okay - that's a bit of a difficult question because there are a few of them too. But I would like to highlight an artist who incredibly impressed me. Human as well as musical and that is David Bowie. I adore this person incredibly and was very sad when he left us. He not only shaped music, but also the zeitgeist, generations, and was courageous with what he embodied. An incredibly sensitive but strong person who stood up for other, lesser-known artists and took me on incredible musical journeys. For me, David Bowie was a true artist who knew how to convey emotions and messages in
his songs.
Your not alone by Andhim and – if I am allowed to name another one – Seven days and one week, the Yotto Remix by BBE
Firstly: stay on the ball, even when things aren't going so well. But most importantly: try to understand the music you are playing. It should be a part of you, the music should touch you and you should be a DJ because you love the music - then you reach exactly the audience that loves you for it and you are authentic, yourself and not a copy of someone else DJ.
